ZEISS MyoCare — myopia management for children

ZEISS MyoCare lenses to help slow the progression of short-sightedness in children, with measurement and regular follow-up.

ZEISS MyoCare

What is myopia management?

Short-sightedness in children usually increases as the eyeball elongates during the growing years. Myopia management is more than a corrective pair of glasses: it is a lens designed to help slow that excessive elongation, combined with regular follow-up to record the change year after year.

Why it matters

  • Every additional step of myopia is linked to a higher risk of eye health problems later in life.
  • Starting early, at the first sign of rapid increase, gives the best chance of control.
  • The child sees clearly and comfortably all day, and the glasses look like any ordinary pair.
  • Wearing the glasses consistently throughout the day is essential to the result.

How ZEISS MyoCare lenses work

MyoCare combines a dedicated optical design that signals the eye with a design for clear everyday vision, plus protective and scratch-resistant coatings.

Patented C.A.R.E. technology

Fine ring structures inside the lens send a signal to the back of the eye to help slow excessive axial elongation of the eyeball.

ClearFocus design

A back-surface design that supports clear, comfortable vision in the centre and towards the edges of the lens, making the lens easier for children to accept.

ZEISS DuraVision coatings

A coating that strengthens the lens surface and improves scratch resistance — important for children's glasses in daily use.

UV protection

UV protection built into the lens to protect a child's eyes during play and outdoor activity.

  • Avoid reading or screen use at a distance closer than 20 cm.
  • Take regular breaks during near work and study.
  • Annual examinations for children from age five, with follow-up through the growing years.
  • Wear the glasses consistently for the whole day.
